EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A semitruck on fire has closed Interstate 10 in both directions in Northwest El Paso on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 21. The Texas Department of Transportation says Interstate 10 is closed in both directions at Transmountain. Major backup is being reported. Clearing time is until further notice. A Fire Department spokesman said a semitruck hit a barrier and caught fire. A big cloud of black smoke could be seen for miles from the incident.
