COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Due to the winter weather in Columbia, the city has opened the overflow shelter, according to the Columbia Police Department. The shelter will open at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, for the unsheltered population. Also at that time, Comet buses will pick up those in need from the Transitions Homeless Center on Main Street.
