BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Lewiston man was arrested on a driving while ability impaired charge after he crashed into a house on Kenwood Drive with a vehicle Tuesday morning, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced. Officers received a 911 call just after 8:40 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a motor vehicle that had crashed into a house on the 400 block of Kenwood Drive. John Jourdain, 57, was allegedly operating a vehicle on North Fifth Street when it left the roadway and crossed through the southbound lane. He was on drugs at the time, according to the sheriff's office. The vehicle drove into a yard before striking a few trees, a fence and the residence, officials said. It then came to a rest and Jourdain was arrested. Officials reported no injuries to occupants of the residence or Jourdain. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and issued several traffic violation tickets. Jourdain is currently being held at the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
