Two leaks cause produced water and oil spills northwest of Epping

WILLIAMS COUNTY, ND (KXNET) — Two produced water and oil spills have been reported Monday northwest of Epping, with pipe and valve leaks leading to the spillage.
On January 20, the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of two spills in Williams County. The first was a valve leak at the DOUBLE DOWN 24-13 1H, about 8.6 miles from Epping.
ZAVANNA, LLC reported that about 154 barrels of produced water and 146 barrels of oil were spilled. At the time of reporting, 104 barrels of produced water and 136 barrels of oil had been recovered.
A pipe leak also occurred yesterday at the Wallace 6-7 #3H, about 16 miles from Epping. Kraken Operating, LLC reported that about 250 barrels of produced water were spilled, all of which have been recovered.
A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to both locations and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
