BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Gov. Jeff Landry gave an update Tuesday about the severe winter weather that brought heavy snow to the state. Landry was joined by leaders of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), Louisiana State Police and the Department of Transportation and Development. Landry announced that state offices will remain closed on Thursday. Multiple parishes across the state have issued curfews. Weather Louisiana Climatologist Jay Grymes said temperatures will continue to drop into the teens and wind chills are expected to drop temperatures as low as 10 degrees. Grymes said Tuesday night is the primary night to wrap your pipes. A Cold Weather Advisory, Winter Storm Warning and Extreme Cold Warning are still in effect across Louisiana, lasting through Wednesday morning. The state transportation agency is in 24-hour operation mode and transitioned from pre-treatment to snowplowing. All priority routes are currently open. Louisiana State Police Superintendent Col.
