SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The victim of a deadly shooting on Oakland Street in Springfield last week has been identified. New Puerto Rican restaurant set to open in Springfield The Hampden District Attorney's Office states that at 11:30 p.m. on January 12th, officers were sent to the 100 block of Oakland Street for a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from gunshots. The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he died due to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Semaj Brewster of Springfield. The shooting is being investigated by the Hampden District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with the Springfield Police Detective Bureau’s Homicide Unit.
