SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico’s 2025 legislative session begins today. Lawmakers will gather for a 60-day session. This session looks to be packed with discussions ranging from improving education to solving the housing crisis. KRQE News 13 will stream Tuesday's State of the State which is slated to start at 12 p.m.
New Mexico lawmakers pushing education and housing bills this legislative session
So far, both Democrats and Republicans have expressed their goals for the upcoming session. Despite an underwhelming special session last summer in which they failed to pass public safety laws, the two parties have said they’re optimistic to come together on those issues.
