StormTracker 8: Another cold day; snow showers tonight
Jan 21, 2025
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Mostly cloudy skies will continue and it will be a cold day with highs in the upper 20s.
Later this afternoon and evening a weather system will slide our way from the Gulf Coast states and that will bring us the risk of some light flurries and snow showers later this evening and tonight mainly south of Petersburg. The rest of Central Virginia north of Petersburg will see mostly cloudy skies for the early part of this evening and tonight and then our skies will clear out as that area of snow slides off to the east out into the Atlantic Ocean. Our overnight lows will drop back to near 10 with wind chills closer to 0.

Wednesday will feature sunny skies, and it will be a cold day with highs in the middle 20s. The sunshine and cold weather will continue for Thursday with highs near 35.
We will finally start to feel a little moderation in those temperatures by Friday as we climb to near 40° with sunny skies.
Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend we should have partly sunny skies for Saturday with highs in the middle 40s, but a weak weather system will approach us for Sunday bringing us more clouds and the risk of showers. However, that will also give us slightly better temperatures as we climb to near 50.
As we turn our attention to the early part of next week there are signs of two weather systems making a run at us one for Monday and Tuesday providing us with more rain showers and highs in the middle to upper 40s.
