MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- An Arkansas man could spend 70 years behind bars after he was convicted for a 2022 murder, according to a press release.

He then fled to Chicago, where he was taken into custody by the Great Lakes U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Reports say that due to a serious prior felony conviction in Missouri, Wilbourn faced an enhanced sentencing range. The jury recommended a 55-year sentence for the First-Degree Murder conviction and a 15-year sentence for the use of a firearm to be served consecutively for a total of 70 years in prison.
Because of his criminal history, Wilbourn will not be eligible for parole and must serve 100% of his sentence on the First-Degree Murder conviction.
“This case was challenging, as no eyewitnesses came forward, but powerful forensicevidence provided the foundation for this conviction,” said Prosecuting Attorney SoniaF. Hagood.
