SOMERSET, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Donations are pouring in for a Somerset family mourning the loss of their sixth-grade daughter following a devastating house fire last week. According to a GoFundMe page, the fire occurred on January 14 while parents Kim and Kris Godby were at work. Their two daughters and grandchild were inside the home at the time. While one daughter and the grandchild escaped unharmed, the family’s sixth-grade daughter tragically did not survive. The community has stepped up to assist the family during this heartbreaking time. The GoFundMe campaign has already raised $15,000 to help cover expenses. Donations are still being accepted through the GoFundMe page, and the family is grateful for the outpouring of support.
