Muncie police: 4yearold shot by 9yearold sibling with gun found in home

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Muncie Police Department is investigating after a 4-year-old was shot by their 9-year-old sibling over the weekend with a gun found in a home.
According to a news release from the department, dispatch received a 911 call at around 8:02 p.m. on Jan. 18 in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived at a home in the 2100 block of North Milton Street, they found that a 4-year-old had been shot. The 4-year-old was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to an Indianapolis hospital. The child is reportedly in stable condition.

After an initial investigation, officials stated in the release that a 9-year-old sibling reportedly located a gun in the home. While the 9-year-old was handling the gun, the sibling reportedly shot the 4-year-old.
