Jan 21, 2025 morning forecast with Tara Hastings INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Incredibly cold conditions continue for today. Temperatures will stay into the single digits later this afternoon. Wind chill values are even colder. The bitter blast finally comes to an end by the middle of the week. TODAY:  A cold weather advisory stays in place for today and through early tomorrow morning. Wind chill values will be 10 to 20 degrees below zero. We will see our temperatures later this afternoon stay in the single digits. Arctic air mass is in place all day today with wind chill values well below zero during much of the afternoon. We will see a little bit of sunshine possible later today but it really won’t warm us up at all.  A rare winter storm is moving across the Gulf coastal states. A blizzard warning has been issued for Louisiana which is the first time the state has ever had one issued. Significant snowfall will be possible with gusty winds reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile at times. TONIGHT: Skies become mostly clear and later tonight and temperatures plummet. We will see a low temperature at one below zero. Wind chill values will drop from 10 to 20 degrees below zero. WEDNESDAY: We may see some more school delays early on your Wednesday morning due to the really intense temperatures. Temperatures begin to improve for the afternoon; we will see highs climbing into the low 20s under a partly cloudy sky. Look for dry conditions on Wednesday. 7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: We will see the chance for a few flurries early Thursday morning under mostly cloudy skies. Highs climb to around 30. For the weekend temperatures will climb back up into the mid and even upper thirties at times. Right now it looks like we could see a chance for some rain, maybe even some snow moving in Sunday into Monday.
