WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — NASCAR has announced the race format for The Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. 23 drivers will compete in the feature event on Sunday night, Feb. 2. The racing action for the NASCAR Cup Series teams will begin Saturday with three practice sessions which will set the lineups for four, 25-lap heat races. The top-5 finishers in each heat race will compete in The Cook Out Clash feature. Federal court upheld order for former NASCAR owner to pay $31M fine, court records show Sunday’s racing action will begin with a 75-lap Last Chance Qualifier race where the remaining cars not already in The Clash will compete for a spot in the feature. The top-two finishers in the LCQ will advance to The Clash. The 23rd and final starting spot in the feature is reserved for the driver who finished the highest in the 2024 season driver points standings and who did not already transfer into The Clash. https://twitter.com/bobpockrass/status/1881734749376442433 The Cook Out Clash Feature race will be a 200-lap race with a halfway break at lap 100. Only green flag laps will count in all of the heat races and The Cookout Clash feature, and each race must end under green flag conditions. Saturday’s events will be carried live on FS1.
