(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After an overnight freeze where temperatures dropped to -14 degrees in Colorado Springs, drivers are warming up their cars and getting back on the roads, and snow plow crews across the city are shifting their focus to secondary roadways on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 21.
According to the City of Colorado Springs, there is a partial call out for snow crews and they will be moving into school zones. The majority of primary roads through the city are clear, allowing crews to focus on less traveled roads, which are snow packed, but may have very slick conditions.
The City said that due to low traffic volumes and frigid temperatures, secondary roads have the potential to refreeze this evening, and drivers are asked to allow for extra time and use caution.
