Mandatory evacuations ordered after brush fire burns 30 acres in North County

Evacuation orders have been issued for a second vegetation fire in the Bonsall area of San Diego County.
The Lilac Fire has grown to 30 acres with a slow rate of spread and is 0% contained.
The fire was reported around 1:20 a.m. near Old Highway 395 and Lilac Road, according to the San Diego County Fire Department.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department issued evacuation orders for nearby areas around 1:30 a.m. An interactive map with updated emergency evacuation information is available here.
A temporary evacuation point is at Castle Creek Country Club located at 8797 Circle R Drive in Escondido.
The fire has a moderate rate of spread and some structures are threatened, the fire authority said.
