ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - It is cold today! The snow has nowhere to go as temperatures cruise down through the single digits. Expect wind chills to run -10° through a lot of today. There are lake-effect snow showers around throughout Genesee and Wyoming Counties today and tonight. As long as the wind is out of the west, the cold and lake snows will continue. A lake-effect snow warning exists for these areas through Wednesday.  It is going to be bitter cold Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow should generally stay away from Monroe County here. Temperatures are in the single digits with wind chills well below zero. Expect the wind chills to run in the -10 to -20 degree range at times both Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Winds are generally out of the west here, so lake effect around Rochester should be at a minimum. Winds begin to back to a more southwest flow by Thursday and Friday, helping push up temperatures back into the 20s and low 30s.  We do get a cold front by the weekend that could bring our next chance for snow, but it looks weak. We may not see anything significant until the end of the month.
