Harshest day of 2025; bitter wind chills holding
Jan 21, 2025
This morning brings a few passing flurries, as another cold front moves across the state. This front will bring the coldest air of the season with highs remaining in the single digits for the entire day.
Out-the-door temperatures will hover between 0-5° at sunrise, as winds begin to increase. Roads are dry but the air is brutal, thus the many schools now on a two-hour delay. The Cold Weather Advisory holds through 10 a.m. Wednesday.
This afternoon will bring some sun at times but a westerly wind at 10-18 mph with higher gusts. Winds chills will remain below zero all day, making for another frigid day, along with dry conditions.
After the coldest start of 2025 tomorrow morning, the polar air will begin to slowly retreat north and northeast. Lower 20° highs expected by the afternoon but still quite breezy. Expect a few flurries or snow showers on Thursday before 30° temperatures return for the weekend.
