AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Light snow and sleet began falling in Central Texas Monday evening, creating scenes of a winter wonderland in and around Austin. (KXAN Photo/Frank Martinez) According to our First Warning Weather Team's snow/sleet accumulation forecast, snow/sleet amounts were expected to be close to an inch along Interstate 35, with lesser amounts in the Hill Country and higher amounts to the east. Current Driving Conditions A Winter Storm Watch began at 6 p.m. Monday for the Austin Metro and our eastern counties, and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect in most of the Hill Country.
