Driver dies in singlevehicle accident in Herndon, police say

HERNDON, Va. (DC News Now) -- Herndon police said a driver died in a single-vehicle crash Monday night.
In a post on the X platform, the Herndon Police Department said just before 8:30 p.m. that officers responded to the Sterling and Rock Hill roads area for a report of a crash.
Fire breaks out in Southeast DC apartment
The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said at 8:45 p.m. that the driver died there.
Drivers should expect a "lengthy closure" near the right lane and right turn lane heading westbound on Sterling Road at Rock Hill Road.
