WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- About 60 firefighters were at the scene of a fire that broke out in Southeast D.C. on Monday night. In a post on X just before 8:15 p.m., DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) said units were in the 3900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A fire had broken out in the basement of a three-story apartment building. The apartment was vacant, so no one is displaced. This was the second apartment fire in Southeast D.C. within just two hours of each other on Monday.
