WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- About 60 firefighters were at the scene of a fire that broke out in Southeast D.C. on Monday night.
In a post on X just before 8:15 p.m., DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) said units were in the 3900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A fire had broken out in the basement of a three-story apartment building.

One person was evaluated by EMS but did not need further treatment. The apartment was vacant, so no one is displaced.
This was the second apartment fire in Southeast D.C. within just two hours of each other on Monday.
