Frigid temps, wind chill prompt school closures around Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Single digit temperatures and below zero wind chills have prompted several school districts to close or delay classes Tuesday.
How local schools decide it it's too cold for class
Rochester City School District announced Monday evening that all schools and offices within the district will be closed Tuesday. All school-related activities are also canceled. Regents exams scheduled for Tuesday will be rescheduled to a later date, an exact date has not yet been set. RCSD staff are also not expected to report.

Wind chills by Tuesday morning will be in the ballpark of -10 to -15°.
In response to the school closures throughout Rochester, city leadership announced Monday night that all R-Centers will be open Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. An afternoon snack and dinner will be provided to students.
