ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Cornerback Christian Benford sustained a concussion during the Bills' divisional playoff victory against the Ravens on Sunday night, and safety Taylor Rapp is day to day with a hip injury that forced him out of the game in the second quarter, coach Sean McDermott said Monday.
Benford got hurt on a hit he took from Baltimore's Kristian Welch before Buffalo's Rasul Douglas recovered the Ravens' onside kick attempt late in the game. Watch video of the play here.
Bills cornerback Christian Benford was placed in the concussion protocol because of this hit he took on the onside kick.Took a pretty good shot to the head area. Certainly celebrating less than some of his teammates afterward. #Bills #BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/ertGtSOOtI— AJ Feldman (@AJFeldmanTV) January 20, 2025
Rapp, who had an interception in the first quarter of Sunday's win, got injured when he collided with teammate Damar Hamlin while trying to tackle Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Matt Milano also did not play the final few plays of the game. He came up gingerly while trying to chase down Jackson on the final drive. McDermott had no explanation as to why he was not on the field and said that he's still waiting on some injury updates.
Sean McDermott says he's still waiting on some injury updates. Had no explanation why Matt Milano was not on the field for the final few plays. Did not say it was or was not an injury related thing. #Bills— Thad Brown (@thadbrown7) January 20, 2025
The Bills entered the divisional round with no significant injuries. Running back Ray Davis played after being cleared from the NFL concussion protocol following a helmet to helmet that knocked the rookie out of the wild-card playoff win against the Denver Broncos. Reserve offensive lineman Alec Anderson was active after being limited in practice with a calf injury, and kick returner Brandon Codrington was inactive but did not have an injury designation after missing the playoff opener with a hamstring injury.
Middle linebacker Terrel Bernard and defensive back Taron Johnson returned to action shortly after receiving attention from trainers Sunday night.
Buffalo travels to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game this Sunday.
