Gang member arrested with stolen gun at Chowchilla park fight, police say

CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A gang member was arrested following reports of numerous juveniles fighting in the area of the Veterans Memorial Park in Chowchilla, the city's police department said.
Officers say they were dispatched to the area of Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday at around 3:40 p.m. While officers were en route, dispatch advised officers one juvenile had a knife.
Upon arrival, police say they contacted two validated gang members and three juveniles who were "affiliates" of the same gang. One of the subjects contacted was identified as Aaron Jimenez of Chowchilla, who is a known gang member with previous law enforcement encounters.
According to detectives, Jimenez was found to have a loaded, previously reported stolen, Glock 19, 9mm semi-automatic pistol. Due to his criminal history and prior felon status, police say Jimenez is prohibited from possession of firearms and ammunition.
The police department says he was booked into the Madera County Jail under suspicion of numerous firearm-related charges and possession of stolen property.
