Some schools to close due to high winds, power outages

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego County Office of Education on Monday announced the closures of multiple schools in East County due to high winds and power outages.
The following school districts will close on Tuesday, Jan. 21:
Julian Union Elementary School District
Julian Union High School District
Mountain Empire Unified School District
Warner Unified School District
Lakeside Farms Elementary and DREAM Academy in Lakeside Union School District

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," SDCOE said.
A Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday for strong gusty winds and low relative humidity for San Diego County mountains and valleys. A Fire Weather Watch is also in effect for those same areas from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon for strong winds and low relative humidity.
