SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Monday was the final night of the Hoophall Classic in Springfield. This marks the 23rd annual event at Springfield College. 33 games were played over five days and on Monday night, five were played. High school teams came from California, Florida, Indiana, and Arizona to take part in the games.There are also several local teams from here in New England. Vice President of the Basketball Hall of Fame Greg Procino told 22News, "They get to play against the best. We're lucky enough to have an event that everyone wants to play and compete at the highest level. I know there's a lot of exposure to come out of what would be on television. NBA personnel or college coaches or agents has become just the place to be in the basketball space." More than 11,000 tickets were sold over the weekend. Officials say these games have had a $10 million impact on the city of Springfield.
