NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The city of Northampton is opening warming shelters as frigid temperatures impact our region. There is a list of non-profit organizations the city is partnering with to keep their doors open for those in need of a safe and warm place. The warming shelters will be available now through Wednesday but at different times of operation. The city encourages residents and visitors experiencing homelessness or needing a place to stay during extreme cold to take advantage of these facilities. If you have any questions, you are asked to contact the Northampton Department of Human Services.
