NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — When Beth Fitzpatrick snapped a few pictures of a couple getting engaged on the beach, she didn't know how special those photos would become to the pair of strangers. "I was at Narragansett Town Beach on Sunday afternoon taking some photos of birds and surfers," Fitzpatrick told 12 News. When she saw a man get down on one knee, Fitzpatrick pointed her camera in their direction. "I didn't want to seem like I was being intrusive on the moment, so I didn't approach them," Fitzpatrick explained. "I got home, and I looked at the photos, and I really felt like I wanted to share the photos with them because it was such a beautiful moment." ALSO READ: Poplar Point Lighthouse shines again after 100+ years Fitzpatrick reached out to some friends to see if she could figure out who the couple was. One person started posting in community Facebook groups and was able to find the pair less than 24 hours after the photos were taken. "I was impressed that, Rhode Island being Rhode Island, within an hour we were connected," Fitzpatrick said. That couple was Samantha Zambarano and Ryan Chadwick from Warwick. What Fitzpatrick didn't know when she took the photos, was that Chadwick's photographer had cancelled on him the morning of the proposal. "It was such a blessing," Chadwick smiled. "I might cry again." One of Chadwick's customers reached out to him after seeing Fitzpatrick's photo on Facebook Monday morning. The couple is overjoyed to have the professional-quality photos. "All of our family members, we've been calling them all day, and they're just as excited as we are," Zambarano said. "We weren't expecting this, it was all meant to be." "It couldn't have worked out better," Chadwick added. "It's a good omen." Both the couple and Fitzpatrick are grateful to the online community for their assistance. "It's been a whirlwind," Fitzpatrick said. "I'm happy that it's got a happy ending, and hopefully, they'll have that moment to keep." It's a story the couple plans to pass down. "To know a person took the time out of their day to shoot photos for us and to additionally try and find us is such a kind gesture," Zambarano said. "I'll have those photos forever."
