BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- As fire crews from around North America help contain wildfires in Los Angeles, Houchin Community Blood Bank is pitching in to help collect clothing for children and teenagers affected by the fires. Houchin and the California Cardiovascular Institute are working together to support Heart of the City Ambassadors in collecting clothing items to provide comfort and care to those who need it most. Three bundles of joy: KCFD firefighter learns about triplets while fighting Los Angeles wildfires You can drop off items at all three HCCB locations, as well as CCI during normal business hours until Jan. 31. Items needed include: Books School supplies Non perishable food items Water New clothing (all sizes) Blankets Personal hygiene items Backpacks and tote bags Donation Drop-off locations: HCCB Truxtun Ave. - 5901 Truxtun Ave⁠.
