WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Garbage trucks and D.C.'s Department of Public Works (DPW) began cleaning up the extraordinary amount of trash left outside of the Capital One Arena on Monday.
Supporters of Donald Trump had waited in line for hours outside of the arena for a Trump rally on Sunday and to view his inauguration on Monday.
They left behind empty pizza boxes, coffee cups and, in some cases, valuable bags and purses that were not permitted inside the arena.

Many people were unaware of the ban policies in place and left their bags, purses and valuables behind. While some began coming back for their belongings Monday afternoon, others were scavenging through the piles.
Among the piles were discarded water bottles, hand warmers, plastic bags and more.
