FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Fresno Police Department confirmed one of their employees was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Sunday. Police say the California Highway Patrol notified Fresno Police that one of the department's personnel was suspected of driving under the influence near Highway 180 and McCall Avenue in Fresno County. Officers report the driver was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and released from custody to what CHP described as a "responsible party." The police department says the employee was already on paid leave for a non-disciplinary matter at the time of the arrest. According to the Fresno Police Department, an Internal Affairs investigation is being conducted following this incident as part of standard policy and procedures.
