WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - People in Westfield celebrated President Trump's inauguration on Monday.
It was a lively event where many supporters of the President gathered at the East Mountain Country Club.
The Republican committees from Easthampton and Southampton hosted the Inauguration watch party. Supporters showed up with T-shirts and hats bearing the President's famous slogan. Troy Chilson told 22News the issues he wants to be addressed during this term. "Secure the border," said Chilson. "Massachusetts has spent billions on immigrants in our state. I would like gas prices to come down so get the XL pipeline going and that's gonna bring inflation down."
President Trump has received strong criticism from Democrats on his border policy, suggesting mass deportations early on in his term. Early reports suggest mass deportations could cost between 80 and 300 billion dollars.
Trump also announced 10 executive orders he'll be signing.
