Arctic air continues before warming trend late week
Jan 20, 2025
Very cold air is in place across the region along with some light snow across the northern mountains and eastern New Mexico. These snow showers will continue to push out of the area as we head through the later evening hours. Temperatures overnight will drop to dangerously low values with wind chill values even lower. The entire state will be below freezing as we wake up Tuesday morning with many areas sub-zero. Wind chill values could be as low as -50° tomorrow morning.
Temperatures will slowly start to warm later tomorrow afternoon in the northern-mountain communities to eventually the southern communities. This warming trend will continue into the weekend with temperatures eventually climbing back to near or slightly above normal. Dry conditions will be in place as well for the week ahead.
