EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — East Providence police said one of their officers was treated for minor injuries after a crash Sunday night. Capt. Michael Rapoza told 12 News the officer was struck on the driver's side of their cruiser in the area of James Street and Williams Avenue. The officer was taken to the hospital and later released. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt, according to Rapoza. Rapoza said it appeared the other vehicle slid due to the snowy conditions and couldn't stop before hitting the cruiser.
