TOWN OF GENEVA, Wis. (WFRV) - A man is in custody after a fatal shooting in the Town of Geneva. According to a Facebook post from the Town of Geneva Police Department, officers were called to W3895 Lincoln Ave just before 2:30 a.m. on Monday for a report that a young man had been shot. Police: One dead following shooting in Wisconsin, suspct arrested The post says that after life-saving measures were tried at the scene, the man was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police report that 52-year-old Steven Merkel Jr. from Lake Geneva was arrested for the shooting and is facing charges of first-degree reckless homicide. No further information has been provided as this investigation is ongoing.
