It's not the end for Mountain Shadows Restaurant

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After announcing its closure in December, a popular local eatery that appeared on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” has a spark of hope for the future.
On Dec. 9, Mountain Shadows Restaurant posted on Facebook that it was permanently closed, citing difficulties resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic as a contributing factor in the closure.

But a breath of life for the restaurant came on Jan. 15, when a Facebook post announced the sale of the business to buyers who want to continue its legacy of good food and good company.
"While this chapter closes for me, a new one opens for the buyers," wrote owner Kasie Swain in the update on Facebook. "They intend to keep it as original as possible."
Swain said she began waitressing at the restaurant in 1993 and eventually purchased it in 2010.
"Not many waitresses end up owning the place they work in and love. It's a true Cinderella in an apron story," Swain said.
Though Swain is moving on to other things, the local favorite restaurant will hopefully return soon, as the sale closed on Friday, Jan. 17. Swain said she would stay on with the new owners to help them acclimate to owning and operating the restaurant, and hopes the community will help welcome them to the Mountain Shadows family.
"I hope you all will support them, offer kind opinions, help them be true Mountain Shadows Restaurant owners," said Swain. "They are truly great people and I really like them...But it's time to slow down. A new energy is coming in and I'm confident about that!"
