Donald Trump sworn in as 47th president

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) - A long day of celebrations are underway in Washington.
With millions around the country and globe watching President Donald Trump was sworn into office at the U.S. Capitol.
President Donald Trump is now at Capital One Arena where thousands of his supporters gathered after the cold forced celebrations inside. Trump promised to usher in a new era of American dominance and promised unity.
"Here I am. The American people have spoken,” said Trump.
Trump went from twice impeached to twice inaugurated.
"The golden age of America begins right now,” said Trump.
Monday, President Donald Trump took an oath of office becoming the 47th President of the United States.
The peaceful transfer of power started at the White House and concluded in the Capitol Rotunda.
Former presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush attended the ceremony.
"Our top priority will be to create a nation that is proud, prosperous and free,” said Trump.
In his inaugural address President Trump announced immediate plans to unleash American energy, deport millions of what he calls illegal criminal aliens, disband diversity equity and inclusion programs and impose tariffs.
"I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense,” said Trump.
Vice President J.D. Vance was also sworn in.
