BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) - An investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department into a shooting on Thursday, Jan. 16 led to the arrest of a man. Timothy Cook, 59, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of weapons and simple battery.  Officers responded to the 3800 block of Keokuk Street around 12:30 p.m. and initiated an investigation into the shooting. A woman was found at the scene with a gunshot wound. As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned that Cook punched another man during an argument. "The female attempted to stop Cook from leaving before the police arrived," BRPD said. They said Cook shot multiple times after both individuals. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
