BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A sandwich shop whipping up homemade sourdough has arrived at The Marketplace in southwest Bakersfield. On Jan. 17, West Coast Sourdough announced the opening of another sandwich shop at The Marketplace. The bakery that began in San Francisco and still uses a 30-year-old family recipe also has another shop in downtown Bakersfield that is coming soon. Pet of the Week: Nico The shop specializes in handcrafted sourdough sandwiches, soups and salads. Catering options are available as well. West Coast Sourdough, who advertises their sourdough as "completely natural and 100% free of preservatives", is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The shop is open 11 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
