Trump SmarTrip cards commemorating inauguration sold out

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Five days after SmartTrip cards marking the inauguration of Donald Trump became available at select Metro stations, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) said the cards were sold out.
The news came hours before Trump was to take the oath of office and become the country's 47th president.

WMATA noted that the commemorative cards, which were available in limited quantities at vending machines in 16 Metro stations across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia were gone in a post on the X platform.
The post came after one hours earlier that let people know the cards only were left at Metro Center.

Trump, who served as the country's 45th president, was to take his oath of office in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Monday, Jan. 20 rather than outside of the Capitol because of extremely cold temperatures. Public viewing of him being swon in was moved from the National Mall to Capital One Area.
