Jan 20, 2025
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- To keep civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream alive, Reverend Al Sharpton will host a rally and march in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 20.
This comes after Sharpton, the founder and president of the National Action Network (NAN), held a series of events in New York City during the week of King's birthday, Jan. 15, to honor his life and legacy.
The NAN is a civil rights organization with chapters throughout the United States. Sharpton founded the organization in 1991 to promote a modern civil rights agenda that includes the fight for "one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people regardless of race, religion, nationality or gender."
