(KRON) – The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspected thief they believe swapped price tags at multiple stores’ self-checkout in the county, the department announced on Sunday.  According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect accumulated more than $11,000 in stolen merchandise in a span of a month.  The department’s Retail Theft Task Force investigated the suspect.  Dog dies after fire breaks out at two-story home in San Jose The suspected thief allegedly used online marketplaces to sell stolen items, according to authorities.  During a search of the suspect’s property, police found and recovered more than $2,600 in merchandise. Authorities said the suspect has a history of fraud, credit card theft and burglary arrests in other states. He was arrested on grand theft charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
