Today is the last day of voting for the NBA All-Star game, but information about participants in other All-Star Weekend events are coming to light. One may come as a surprise to Spurs fans, but for the first time since Cadillac Anderson in 1988, the Spurs have a participant in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in rookie guard Stephon Castle, per ESPN’s Sham Charania. He has shown he can ball with the best of them by thriving as a starter and is a contender for Rookie of the Year in a wide open race. This likely isn’t the last All-Star event he will be invited to, as he will surely be a part of the Rising Stars competition as well. The winning team from Rising Stars will get a chance to play in the All-Star game, which has taken on the same 4-team tournament format in an effort to boost the competition level. Congrats, Steph!
