OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded after a fire at an outbuilding spread to a home Monday morning. According to OKCFD, crews responded to a home near NW 36th St. and MacArthur Blvd. just after 1 a.m. LOCAL NEWS: Oklahoma businesses helping LA wildfire relief Upon arrival, firefighters learned the fire began inside an outbuilding and spread to a home nearby. "The homeowner was able to get out. He said that he was watching T.V. and heard a loud noise, stepped outside and saw the orange." said Batt. Chief Jeff Chappell with OKCFD. "He tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher, but there was just too much fire." Batt. Chief Chappell says the cause of the fire appears to be a space heater that was in the outbuilding. He stresses the importance of keeping space heaters away from anyone flammable.
