City crews are continuing to treat roadways after the latest round of winter weather. Roads are being treated with rock salt, salt brine and Beet Heet. Crews will work to clear roadways of slick spots and snow.  Freezing temperatures paired with recent snow and rain can cause slick spots on roads. Drivers are reminded to be especially careful on bridges and overpasses as they typically freeze first.  A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. this afternoon. Wear multiple layers when going outside and limit exposed skin by wearing a hat, scarf and gloves.  The Office of Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Emergency Weather Plan remains in effect until Friday, Jan. 24. The plan includes expanded shelter services and free transportation to shelters. The Emergency Weather Plan and a list of shelters are available at lexingtonky.gov/homelessness-prevention-and-intervention. Residents who see someone who may need shelter should call LexCall at 311 to be connected with the Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention.
