Kentucky Legislative Session 2025 already 4 days in

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky’s General Assembly has completed the first four days of the 2025 legislative session, with lawmakers filing hundreds of bills addressing a range of issues.
Among the proposed legislation:
House Bill 21: Seeks to define terms and establish criminal penalties for illegally spreading “deep fakes” or digitally altered videos of a person’s face.
House Bill 55: Aims to establish civil liability for parents or guardians if their child causes injury or death using a firearm or other deadly weapon.
House Bill 209: Proposes the abolition of the death penalty, replacing it with life imprisonment without parole for inmates currently sentenced to death.
The General Assembly will reconvene on Tuesday, February 4, to begin the second part of the 2025 regular session.
