REIDSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was found dead in an icy pond in Reidsville on Sunday, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office. On Sunday, deputies came to a home on the 8000 block of US 29 Business in Reidsville after getting a report of a missing man. Investigators say that Phillip Daniel Skelley, 34, of Reidsville, went missing while searching for his dog in the surrounding area. Minor dies after Winston-Salem water rescue on Duck Pond Court After searching the area, deputies performed a K9 track from Skelley's home leading to an iced-over pond off Burton Road. The deputies then noticed one large hole and one small hole in the ice in the middle of the pond. Rockingham County deputies, Rockingham County EMS, the Guilford Association of SCUBA Personnel and several local fire departments responded to the scene. Skelley would eventually be found deceased in the pond. Deputies say that there are no signs of foul play and that Skelley's death was accidental.
