The 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade planned for Jan. 20 in Baltimore has been cancelled due to inclement weather and there are no plans to reschedule it, according to an announcement from the Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts (BOPA) and the Office of Mayor Brandon Scott.The parade had been scheduled to begin at noon at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and North Eutaw Street, with Baltimore City Solicitor Ebony M. Thompson as the Grand Marshall.  The high temperature in the city is expected to be 22 degrees on Monday.“We are truly disappointed to cancel this much beloved event,” said Robyn Murphy, BOPA’s interim CEO, in a statement. “However, we agree with the Mayor’s Office that public safety must be our top priority in this moment and the inclement weather and frigid temperatures have dictated this very necessary decision. We send our thanks and apologies to the many dedicated community bands, nonprofits, civic organizations, sponsors, city officials, artists and volunteers that were prepared to come together on Monday to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King.”Jan. 20 has also been declared a National Day of Service. “Once the roads are clear and safe, please still feel inspired to participate in any service activities still scheduled throughout the city or rescheduled in the week following,’ BOPA’s announcement said.
