BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A former teacher at Kern Valley High School is scheduled for sentencing Tuesday after pleading no contest to engaging in a sex act with and sending sexually explicit messages to an underage student.
Christopher David Renaudo, 29, faces 16 months in prison and lifetime sex offender registration, prosecutors have said. He was arrested in April after the victim reported he sexually assaulted her on three occasions after asking her to stay behind after class, according to court documents.
Renaudo at first denied wrongdoing, but later admitted to engaging in sex acts with the student, documents said.
