Woman charged with reckless homicide of man in northwest Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A 30-year-old woman was arrested and faces a reckless homicide charge after a 33-year-old man died of a gunshot wound overnight Monday.
Columbus police said officers went to the 1400 block of Slade Avenue and found Tremain Russell with a gunshot wound just after midnight. Russell was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead just before 12:45 a.m.

Cierra Locke-Shelby told police she was holding a gun during a verbal argument with Russell. She allegedly was waving the handgun when it discharged and hit Russell, claiming to investigators the gun was faulty and unintentionally discharged, per Columbus police.
She was charged with reckless homicide and is currently in Franklin County Jail.
