CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The 53rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade will take place in downtown Charleston on Monday, sparking a few road closures in the area.
The Charleston Police Department announced that the parade will begin setting up near Burke High School at 6 a.m., resulting in the early closure of Fishburne Street near Hagood Avenue.

The parade is expected to begin at 9 a.m. and will proceed east on Fishburne Street, north on Ashley Avenue, east on Sumter Street, south on King Street, east on Calhoun Street, and will end on Calhoun Street near Elizabeth Street.
Roadways are expected to reopen by 12:00 p.m.
